Skyline diffuser - modular (16 panels)

£20.00

In the search for reliable and precise diffusion options at both the home studio space and at Blank Studios I ended up deciding to design and print skyline diffusers. Skyline diffusers are extremely effective diffusers operating in 2 dimensions. They’re great on walls and as clouds over the listening position. They also look spectacular, and when printed can be done in any colour to fit your space.

The skyline diffuser I designed has a primary operational range from 1kHz up to 6.86kHz, with some amount of scattering down to around 500Hz, and an absolute floor of around 300Hz.

There are 16 panels, each sized at 250×250mm so they can fit on most average print beds. Each panel is different and meant to be arranged in a grid pattern. If you plan on printing a full 4×4 grid [1×1meter diffuser] you must arrange the panels in the correct order - panel a1 top left all the way to panel d4 bottom right. For a 3×3, a1 at the top left and c3 and the bottom right.. etc etc

If you have any other questions please don’t hesitate to ask.

The purchase includes all 16 diffuser .stl files and a printing and optimisation guide. You should expect to use approx one 1kg spool of filament per panel when printed at 100%. Lowering the diffuser height (z axis) will use less filament but decrease the effective range - 50% height reduction will double to bottom frequency from 1kHz to 2kHz for example

*please note this is for a digital .stl file that can be used with any 3d printer, not a physical object. You will need access to a 3d printer in order to get the physical item.
